John Gwilliam

John has been practising in Upper Hutt since 1986 and started his private practice in 1992. From being a sole practitioner John has steadily grown his firm and now employs three legal associates and three support staff. His specialisations are litigation in Criminal Law, Family Law and General Civil Law and he has taken cases through the High Court and the Court of Appeal.
From being a sole practitioner John has steadily grown his firm. Earlier this year Fiona Butland who has worked for the firm since 2002 bought into the business. He and Fiona are now Directors and Shareholders. The firm now employs two legally qualified staff and four support staff.

Fiona has been with John Gwilliam & Co. Ltd since 2002. Prior to practising in Upper Hutt Fiona held positions as a solicitor with the New Zealand Law Society and two Wellington City firms, after graduating from Victoria University, Wellington with an LLB. Fiona's specialities include Asset Protection, and all aspects of Criminal and Family Law.

Fionnuala Kelly
Prior to practising in Upper Hutt, Fionnuala worked with the NZ Law Society as well as a number of other Barristers and Solicitors in Wellington. Fionnuala’s main areas of practise include family law, criminal and employment law.
